Why we developed NEW MUM
Over the past ten years, the number of mothers reporting symptoms of fatigue through to burnout has increased by 37 per cent. Many mums today find themselves under an enormous amount of pressure, yet they want to live up to the high expectations placed on them and tend not to seek professional help until they are past the point of functioning.
We want to counteract this development and create something that will help mums to relax and enjoy more moments of happiness as they take their first steps into motherhood. New Mum is the first self-care journal for mums on the market that specifically addresses a topic which is so significant and present yet so often goes ignored.
Especially right after the birth, the focus tends to be on the newborn. This new role and the responsibilities that come with it demand a huge amount of energy and also a lot of self-compassion. Practising mindfulness and self-love is an important way of strengthening and maintaining emotional and physical health, particularly during this time.
